# AI video cost calculator

Estimate the generation budget for a target number of usable clips. Enter a price you have verified for your provider and include the rejected attempts through your expected acceptance rate.

## Estimate your generation budget

## The formula and what it assumes

Expected attempts = accepted clips needed ÷ acceptance rate. We round that planning count up to a whole attempt. Estimated generation cost = expected attempts × seconds per attempt × price per generated second. Cost per accepted clip = estimated cost ÷ accepted clips needed.

This is an expectation-based planning model, not a guarantee about how many attempts a project will require. It assumes equal clip duration and a constant per-second rate. It does not model correlation between failures or predict visual quality.

## An illustrative ten-clip project

At an illustrative $0.10 per second, a 10-second attempt costs $1.00. If you need ten accepted clips and expect to accept half the attempts, budget for twenty attempts and $20.00 of generation. At a 25% acceptance rate, that becomes forty attempts and $40.00.

Those numbers demonstrate the formula. They are not a verified quotation for any named model. Replace the default rate with the current charge for the exact model, output mode and access surface you intend to use.

## Convert credits only with your own disclosed rate

If a tool charges credits, determine what those credits cost under your actual purchase. Multiply credits per second by your effective dollars per credit, then enter that rate. If you cannot establish a defensible conversion, keep your budget in credits outside this dollar calculator.

Do not divide a headline monthly plan price by an advertised credit total without accounting for the conditions that matter to your usage. The platform’s current pricing and your account determine your real charge.

## Add the costs this tool leaves out

- Subscription cost allocated to the project, if relevant.
- Input processing, audio and additional model operations.
- Upscaling, interpolation, storage or delivery charges.
- Manual editing, review and replacement footage.
- Taxes and fees shown by your provider.

Record real acceptance rate from a pilot to replace a guess. Keep that pilot representative of your most difficult required shot rather than choosing only a simple scene. The calculator runs locally and does not read your provider account.
